Hvordan et trægulv afslibes – Trin 2

Start gulvafslibning
Normalt begyndes gulvafsibningen langs den lange strækning af væggen og arbejde fra venstre mod højre. Man arbejder sig langsomt fremad, og fortsætter indtil man er næsten oppe ved væggen. Håndtaget løftes, således at tromlen ikke længere rører gulvet. Gulvafslibningsmaskinen føres tilbage, omhyggeligt og med bløde bevægelser.

Gulvafslibningen fortsættes på samme måde på vej tilbage. Resten af trægulvet afslibes ved, langsomt, at gå frem og tilbage. Og afslibningen begynder at tage form.

Tidligere afslebet områder kan overlappes lidt uden at det vil have en effekt på det endelige sliberesultat. Gulvafslibemaskinen må aldrig stå stille idet det vil lave grimme mærker på trægulvet. I værste fald kan der gå ild i trægulvet.

Bemærk, at der bliver slebet med forskellige størrelser korn på sandpapiret. Første afslibning vil typisk være med korn 60, anden afslibning med korn 80, tredje slibning med korn 100 og endelig fjerde slibning med korn 120 så der bliver en fin finish. Dog er det meget individuelt fra gulv til gulv hvordan forløbet sammensættes. Størrelsen af korn afhænger af gulvtype, træsort samt trægulvets beskaffenhed.
